Driver Spotlight: Mitchell H. - 4th of July

For the month of July, we’re proud to highlight one of our military veteran drivers, Mitchell H, who served in the United States Marines and is now delivering food with DeliverThat in the Daytona Beach area. With over 4,000 successful deliveries under his belt in the gig space, Mitchell brings his professionalism and commitment to service to every order he delivers.

Mitchell has lived in the Daytona Beach area for eight years, where he has worked as a carpenter and Delta Airline support mechanic before joining the gig economy. When asked about his decision to join the Marines, Mitchell said, “I love this country and understand freedom is not free.” He brings that same dedication to his work at DeliverThat, where he takes pride in delivering quality service to customers.

As a seasoned driver in the gig economy, Mitchell has worked with other app-based delivery services like DoorDash, Grubhub, and Uber Eats. He first discovered DeliverThat on YouTube and was impressed by the company’s driver-centric approach. “I appreciate that DeliverThat understands the challenges that drivers face and works with the drivers to overcome them” Mitchell said.

When asked about his advice for newer drivers, Mitchell emphasized the importance of planning ahead and communicating with support and customers. “Plan your work, work your plan. If problems arise, contact support immediately, they will help you,” he advises.

What does the gig economy offer that appeals to Mitchell? “The freedom! You get to work when you want or need, schedule your day around other commitments, etc.,” he says. And as a driver for a company that is “By Drivers, For Drivers,” Mitchell values the understanding and support he receives from DeliverThat.

In his free time, Mitchell enjoys fishing and woodworking. But on the job, he’s focused on delivering top-notch service to customers. “I always try to be friendly, on time, and have all the equipment to complete the job. I communicate with support and the customer. In a word, I am a PROFESSIONAL. I take my job seriously, hell, I'm a Marine,” he says.

We’re grateful for Mitchell’s service and proud to have him on the DeliverThat team. To all our drivers and customers, have a happy and safe 4th of July!
