VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE

Position Summary

The Vice President of Finance is a hands-on executive leader responsible for the financial health, operating discipline, and long-range financial strategy of DeliverThat. This leader will own the company's finance and accounting function, including financial planning and analysis, controllership, cash and working capital, reporting, compliance, financial systems, and decision support.

As a member of the executive leadership team, the VP of Finance will serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and functional leaders. The successful candidate will bring the strategic range to shape company direction and the operating depth to build processes, controls, models, and a high-performing team. This is an opportunity for an experienced finance executive to help DeliverThat scale with stronger visibility, accountability, and profitable growth.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Planning & Decision Support

  • Translate company strategy into measurable financial targets, operating assumptions, capital requirements, and performance expectations.

  • Build scenario models for pricing, customer and channel economics, market expansion, new services, technology investments, and other strategic initiatives.

  • Provide clear, data-driven recommendations to the CEO and executive team on growth investments, resource allocation, profitability, and risk.

  • Establish a disciplined business review cadence that links financial results, operating metrics, corrective actions, and accountable owners.

Financial Reporting, Accounting & Controls

  • Ensure accurate, timely, and decision-useful monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for management, the board, lenders, and other stakeholders.

  • Oversee the accounting close, general ledger, revenue and expense recognition, reconciliations, payroll accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial statement preparation.

  • Maintain appropriate accounting policies, approval authorities, segregation of duties, and internal controls to safeguard assets and support scalable growth.

  • Lead external audit, tax, insurance, and compliance relationships and ensure timely completion of required filings and reporting obligations.

  • Continuously improve close speed, reporting quality, data integrity, and management visibility.

Cash, Treasury, Capital & Risk Management

  • Own cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, working capital, banking relationships, debt compliance, and treasury activities.

  • Optimize billing, collections, payment terms, disbursements, and working capital practices without compromising customer or partner relationships.

  • Evaluate financing alternatives, capital investments, and return thresholds; support lender, investor, and transaction diligence as needed.

  • Identify financial, contractual, tax, insurance, and operational risks and ensure practical mitigation plans are in place.

Business Performance & Unit Economics

  • Create a clear performance architecture spanning revenue, gross profit, contribution margin, customer and channel profitability, operating expense, cash conversion, and return on investment.

  • Partner with Sales and Growth on pricing, deal economics, customer acquisition efficiency, commissions, and revenue forecasting.

  • Partner with Operations on service delivery economics, capacity, labor and driver-related costs, quality investments, and margin improvement.

  • Partner with Technology and Product leadership on investment cases, roadmap economics, capitalization policies, and benefit realization.

  • Deliver insightful variance analysis and identify the operational drivers behind results, not just the accounting outcomes.

Team Leadership & Financial Systems

  • Lead, develop, and hold accountable the finance and accounting team; clarify roles, decision rights, service levels, and development plans.

  • Assess the organization structure and talent required to support current needs and future scale.

  • Evaluate and improve accounting, planning, reporting, business intelligence, expense management, payroll, and related systems.

  • Use automation and standardized workflows to reduce manual work, strengthen controls, and increase the time available for analysis and business partnership.

Executive Leadership & Governance

  • Serve as the executive team's primary financial advisor and communicate complex financial issues in direct, practical language.

  • Prepare and present board-level financial materials, including performance, outlook, risk, capital allocation, and strategic recommendations.

  • Model high integrity, sound judgment, constructive challenge, and enterprise-first decision making.

  • Support strategic transactions, partnerships, financing, or other special projects as the business evolves.

Measures of Success

  • A reliable financial planning and forecasting process with clear ownership and improving forecast accuracy.

  • Timely, accurate financial reporting and a predictable close cadence supported by strong controls and clean data.

  • Actionable visibility into cash, margin, customer and channel economics, and the financial returns of major investments.

  • Stronger cross-functional accountability for financial and operating performance.

  • A capable, scalable finance organization and systems environment that can support DeliverThat's next stage of growth.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field; CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred.

  • 12+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role with broad functional ownership.

  • Prior experience as a VP of Finance, senior finance executive, division CFO, or comparable leader in a growth, transformation, or scaling environment.

  • Demonstrated depth across FP&A, accounting and reporting, cash management, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, tax and audit coordination, and financial systems.

  • Track record of building financial models and management reporting that influence real operating decisions.

  • Experience leading and developing finance and accounting professionals and improving the performance of the overall function.

  • Board, lender, investor, or ownership-group communication experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience in technology-enabled services, logistics, marketplaces, restaurant technology, multi-location services, or a similarly transaction-intensive business is preferred.

  • Strong command of modern accounting, planning, reporting, and business intelligence tools.

Leadership Profile

  • Strategic and commercially minded, with the ability to connect financial insight to customer, market, and operating realities.

  • Hands-on and low-ego; willing to work at the detail level while building a more scalable function.

  • Clear, credible communicator who can challenge assumptions and build alignment across executives and functional teams.

  • High standards for accuracy, follow-through, confidentiality, and ethical judgment.

  • Comfortable making decisions in a fast-moving environment with incomplete information and evolving priorities.
