Driver Spotlight: Andrea T. (Laurel, MD)

Updated: Aug 23, 2022

Our newest driver spotlight is with Andrea T. in Laurel, Maryland. Though she has just joined DeliverThat in March of this year, Andrea is a veteran catering delivery driver in her area. She has lived in the Laurel, MD, area for around 25 years, where she previously worked in the medical field in an administrative role as a Project Manager. She believes her background is why she can remain calm and collected on even the most complex catering deliveries.

Andrea "stumbled upon" DeliverThat while searching for a new career path, specifically looking for a flexible work schedule with sustainable wages. After taking her first few deliveries, Andrea began to realize a majority of her orders were going to medical facilities, comparable to her previous line of work. With that in mind, she could feel comfortable and use her past experiences to understand the importance of timeliness and providing exceptional service to the customers.

Andrea took notice of DeliverThat's 'By Drivers, For Drivers' mantra during her sign-up process and said it stood out to her. "Because you all have experienced the burdens of different issues while driving, you were able to take those lessons learned and created a more streamlined and driver-focused platform," she said. Andrea added that she quickly realized that she was delivering for a company that aims to treat its drivers better than anyone else in the industry.

Andrea has had her share of eventful deliveries during her time with DeliverThat, including delivering to the Bowie BaySox on multiple occasions. However, her favorite delivery in her time on the platform was not to a professional team or high-end organization but to a family grieving over the recent loss of a loved one. "It was a very touching situation, and it made me realize that the little things you do make a difference in someone's life," she said. After setting up the food, two family members came outside and sparked a conversation, thanking Andrea for her work in their time of need. During the discussion, Andrea could feel the customers' heavy hearts and the loss of their loved one. She says she feels honored God gave her that moment to help them and that the biggest reward was the two smiles from the grieving family members as she walked away. "Being able to provide a smile to someone in a time of need is the best feeling in the world," she concluded.

We thank Andrea for all her hard work thus far driving with DeliverThat. Without drivers like herself, DeliverThat would not be at the forefront of customer service and professionalism as we are today.
